Certificate Course in Veda Research
Duration of the Course: 12 months
Description :-
The Certificate Course is a twelve-month course designed to give basic knowledge on Veda. This course has four major parts, and includes research, study and analysis of the first ten suktas of Rig Veda.
The course is available either fully residential or online. Residential courses take place at Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. (Accommodation and boarding charges are extra.)
Applicants must demonstrate fluency in the language in which they are taking the course. Familiarity with Sanskrit is not required.
Medium of instruction for residential studies are in English (all residential/on campus lessons will be imparted only in English). Online lessons will be provided in any of the following languages, as per the choice given at the time of enrollment. The student has to choose any one language option at the time of enrollment to receive the lessons.
Indian languages: Odia, Hindi, Tamil, Telegu, Bengali, Assamese, Kannada, Gujarati
European languages: English, French, German, Spanish

A. Specialized Study and Research of the Four Vedas
1. Each student has to choose three principal Vedic chandas and select 50 mantras from each chanda for specialized study and research. A minimum of 10 mantras has to be selected from each Veda. The principal chandas are:
a. Gáyatrè
b. Jagatè
c. Virata
d. Trishtup
e. Anushtup
f. Ushnik
g. Paògkti
2. Each student has to choose three Vedic rishis and select 25 mantras revealed by each rishi for specialized study and research. A minimum of 10 mantras has to be selected from each Veda.
3. Each student has to choose three Vedic devatas and select 25 mantras invoked for each devata for specialized study and research. A minimum of 10 mantras has to be selected from each Veda.
B. Intensive Study and Research on the Major Upanishads
1. Each student has to select any three from the ten major Upanishads for specialized study and research.
C. Brahmasutra
1. Each student has to select any one part of Brahmasutra for intensive study and research.
D. Vedangas
1. Nirukta
2. Jyotish (eyes of the Vedas)
3. Kalpa (the arm of the Vedas)
4. Each student has to select any one from the six vedangas for specialized study and research.
E. Upangas
1. Each student has to select any one of the 18 puranas for specialized study and research; or any one of the major samhitas for specialized study and research; or any one of the nyayashastras for specialized study and research; or any one of the two major mimansa for specialized study and research
